It is with much regret that we have had to close Wytham Woods today (22/03/2020) with immediate effect. Please do not visit.
We are of course devastated to have to close at this time, but the health and wellbeing of our visitors and staff have to be our top priority. Having observed the numbers visiting yesterday, it is clear that social distancing guidelines cannot be maintained.
We hope that, alongside the rest of the country, the harder we work now, the sooner we will be able to resume normal life.
Our sincere apologies to anybody who journeys here today only to be turned away, but we hope that you will be understanding and supportive of our decision.
Monday to Friday: 10am to dusk
Weekends and bank holidays: dawn to dusk
The Woods are open every day of the year including bank holidays, unless essential management work is being undertaken.
Planned closure dates for essential management work
The entirety of Wytham Woods will be closed on the following dates:
Friday 17 January - Monday 20 January 2020 inclusive
Friday 14 February - Monday 17 February 2020 inclusive
